MARIE-JOSÉE BLAIS

ASSISTANT DEPUTY MINISTER FOR INNOVATION | MINISTÈRE DE L'ÉCONOMIE, DE LA SCIENCE ET DE L'INNOVATION |

In February 2016, Marie-Josée Blais was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister for Innovation at the ministère de l’Économie, de la Science et de l’Innovation. In November 2014, she became the Executive Director of this department, responsible for implementing measures related to Quebec’s Research and Innovation Strategy.

Previously, as Director of International Collaboration and Director of International Affairs Coordination (now Export Quebec), Marie-Josée participated in many governmental missions abroad and delegation receptions. From 1991 to 2001, she carried out health technology assessments in the U.K. and, subsequently, within AETMIS (Agence d’évaluation des technologies et des modes d’intervention en santé).

She has a Master of Public Health from Université de Montréal and a Certificate in Health Economics from the University of Aberdeen.
