Ali Yousefpour has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Since 1995, he has been working on designing, analyzing, manufacturing, and testing of polymeric and ceramic matrix composite materials and structures for marine, automotive, space and aerospace applications.

In 2002, he joined National Research Council of Canada (NRC). His research focuses on developing advanced manufacturing and joining techniques for aerospace structures with emphasis on thermoplastic and thermoset composite materials.

Currently, he is the Team Leader and a Senior Research Officer of the Composite Products Team at NRC. His team has conducted several successful CRIAQ and technology demonstration projects in collaboration with Canadian SMEs and OEMs in the areas of automation, joining, forming and fabrication of composite structures.

Ali Yousefpour will be a facilitator at the Advanced materials, structures and fabrication workshop, at 2 p.m.
