FRANK BRUECKNER

LEADER OF AM ACTIVITIES | FRAUNHOFER IWS |

Dr. Frank Brueckner studied automation and control engineering as well as business administration at the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD). After his studies he worked as a scientist and project leader on (theoretical) aspects in the field of laser materials processing as well as thermal coatings at TUD and Fraunhofer IWS Dresden. In 2011, he finished his PhD thesis about theoretical aspects of laser cladding at the TUD.

Now he is leading the AM activities at the Fraunhofer IWS. His research work focuses on manifold aspects along process chains of different AM technologies as powder-bed and nozzle-based processes as well as hybrid approaches.

Frank Brueckner will be a speaker at the Advanced Materials, Structures, and Fabrication workshop, at 2 p.m.
